Our Policy on the Privacy of Children's Photos

The following should answer all your questions regarding privacy - if you are still not sure - please email us to clarify. 

​All children registered to have photos taken by our service will have a private online gallery created with a unique passcode that is emailed to the parent/guardian that filled out the registration form. The gallery will only show photos of their child and parents/guardians will not have access to another other child's individual photos. 

By registering your child for photos to be taken you are also giving us (Red Cherry Images/Trina Julius) permission to photograph your child and show photos in the private online gallery that is created. 

We do not photograph individual photos for children that we have not received a registration for as we do not have permission to do so. 

Will my child's images/video be shown on social media/website/promotional material/ Trina's education website ? ​​ 
Within the online registration form, there is a specific question asking for your (parent/guardian) permission to use images/video for social media, website, promotional/print material or educational material of your child taken by us. You will be required to select either Yes or No.  
If you select Yes, your child's image may be shown on our website, social media, promotional material or educational material. No names are quoted or identification of Kindy/childcare are displayed when using the image for those purposes.
If you select No, ​we would never use your child's individual image on any online platform, promotional material or share your viewing details with anyone other than the person that has registered. 

Can a member of my family be given the password to view individual images of my child ?   
​We only email the viewing details and password to the person that has registered the child for photos to be taken. If you wish to share the viewing details and password with another member of your family that is up to you. They may place an order under their email and contact information separate to yours if you give them permission to do so.  We would never give out the passcode and viewing details to any person that is not the registered email address.

What about group photos - are they shown online for pre-purchase viewing ?   
​For Traditional style class photos - we share a small preview with no identification of names or location within each child's gallery for that class.  It is very small but enough so parents can see what the class photo looks like before deciding to purchase.  If you wish for your child NOT to be shown in the class photo preview - we can place a black dot over your child's photos. Please contact us to have this occur or let your child's teacher/educator know and ask them to inform us.  We are guided by the teacher of the class and do the same for any unregistered children that do not wish for their child's photo to be shown in the online preview of the class photo. 

For composite /yearbook style class photos (done mainly in childcares/small schools) - we do not provide a pre-purchase online gallery viewing of these class photos.  The best individual photo is preselected by us and prepared with names identified under each child's photo or at the bottom of the print. Only children that have registered for photos to be taken are included on the composite/yearbook style class photos. 

What if I do not want my child in the Traditional class photo ? 
​Please let us know or your child's teacher/educator know as soon as possible so we can ensure that they are not included in the class photo. For traditional photos we love to be inclusive of all children in the class whether registered or not . So if you wish for your child not to be in the class photos -​ Please let us know or your child's teacher/educator know as soon as possible so we can ensure that they are not included.  Please be aware that the class photo is sold as a print copy only with names and location of kindy.   

PLEASE NOTE : We cannot prevent families from photographing the class photo with their mobile device and displaying on their social media. We ask families to please do not share the class photo online out of respect for all children in the class photo. ​

If you grant permission for Red Cherry Images to share photos of your child - where are they used ? 
​We may share images of your child that you have given permission to share online within our social media platforms eg : facebook, instagram as examples of our work, on the Red Cherry Images website www.redcherryimages.com.au,  in print material eg posters/flyers/brochures to centres and kindergartens to advertise our work as well as on the educational sister website www.artofkindyphotography.com that is where Trina educators other aspiring preschool photographers.   At all times no names are included or referred to when using images as well as no locators of the whereabouts of photos unless express permission given.   Please keep this in mind if you choose Yes to social media and have your child wearing a kindy shirt that locates the kindy they are attending.  In most cases we avoid showing these photos online for this reason. 

Please note : we NEVER share photos of children that we have photographed if you have not given us permission to do so when registering your child for photos to be taken. ​

What happens if I change my mind about permission to share ? 
​That is totally okay - please let us know as soon as possible and we will remove images from social media/website/promotional material. We absolutely do not mind at all and happy to abide by your wishes at all times. ​
